Appointment Pool
Halls Head College is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2023.
We are seeking dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic HASS teachers with the ability to create inclusive environments conducive of learning and providing opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs. Suitable applicants should possess excellent interpersonal skills and be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and Lower School specialist teachers who can extend, adjust and accommodate student needs accordingly to maximise progress in HASS are strongly encouraged to apply. Graduate teachers are also encouraged to apply.
Suitable applicants should possess the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to develop and implement engaging and relevant HASS Curriculum and be confident in teaching students across Years 7 to 12. As an expert practitioner, you will ideally exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. You will be called upon to support the implementation of the College’s Business Plan, work and teach in a team environment, be committed to whole college approaches and initiatives, and have a strong evidence based approach to teaching. Suitable applicants will ideally possess experience in a wide range of teaching models and differentiating the curriculum. Adopting inclusive practices, building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
