Suitable applicants will ideally also have positive interpersonal skills, strong communication and organisational skills. It is desirable for applicants to display how they can successfully engage all students, including students at educational risk, both academically and socially within their written applications.

Somerly PS provides a welcoming, friendly and caring learning environment where students are encouraged to model our key values of respect, responsibility and safety. We have dedicated and experienced staff who share a commitment to the school vision and values. We provide a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, science, humanities and social sciences and technology. Our students engage in a well-rounded curriculum experience based on the West Australian curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework. We also provide our students with the opportunity to study a range of subjects including music, physical education, visual arts and Italian. Any applicants with strengths in specialised areas should address this in their application.
Our new school business plan outlines the strategic directions for continued improvement including our six focus areas. The focus areas outline the strategies and targets set out to achieve our aspiration and vision. Suitable applicants will ideally display experience that aligns with the Somerly Primary School vision, values and focus areas within our Business Plan.
