This is a permanent part-time (0.7FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2022
Morley Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a permanent Teacher of Languages (Japanese) beginning Term 3, 2022.
The successful applicant for this position will ideally be a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic teacher, who is passionate about language learning and the opportunities it provides for young people. They should be able to display high expectations and a commitment to excellence and maintain a positive classroom learning environment. They should be able to use a range of pedagogies and to reflect on and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practices using a variety of methods and apply that knowledge to cater for different student learning needs. Being student-focused and collaborative, they should be able to demonstrate positive learning outcomes for students across Years 7 to 12 and demonstrate an ability to provide relevant and engaging courses linking to the Western Australian Curriculum. An ability to use ICT effectively and teach in another learning area or language would be an advantage. Experience delivering the senior school curriculum for Japanese is desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
