Appointment Pool
Dalmain Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Library Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2023.
Dalmain PS is seeking dedicated Library Officers, who build trust-filled, quality relationships with students, parents, and staff. You should have the skills to be able to support and encourage the students to achieve the aims outlined in the Western Australian Curriculum. If you are innovative, emotionally intelligent, proactive and an enthusiastic individual, who has a high skill-set as a Library Officer, we encourage you to apply.
The Library Officer will support staff with the day-to-day operations of the library and provision of reference, information, and associated services to teaching staff and students. They will administer library systems which ensure library records are up-to-date and library resources are maintained and processed so they are accessible and available to students and staff at all times. Experience in Oliver software is highly desirable.
The Library Officer will demonstrate the use of library equipment and assist students and staff to select program and age-appropriate materials. They will also assist with the stocktaking and monitoring of the library budget and contributing to making recommendations for new library resources.
Dalmain PS is located approximately 20 km north of the Perth CBD. Our school is renowned for its attractive grounds and gardens. Continuous improvements are made to enhance learning spaces for our students.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
- Ability to use computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spread sheets and word processing.
- Experience in providing administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision Making within six months of appointment;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
