Ravensthorpe District High School (DHS) is seeking a Secondary Science Teacher to join their high-quality regional school.
The successful applicant will ideally have a commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes. The capacity to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of students with a range of achievement levels, language backgrounds and learning difficulties will be highly regarded. In keeping with this, the successful applicant will ideally be committed to maximising the engagement and progress of all students.
You should be innovative, knowledgeable and understand instructional curriculum whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Science Learning Area. You should also be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment.
Ravensthorpe DHS was established in 1901 and has strong partnerships with the local community. We offer students from Kindergarten to Year 10 all that you would expect in a larger metropolitan school, yet have that unique, friendly atmosphere typical of a small rural community.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
