Appointment Pool
Eastern Hills Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Science for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2023.
Experience with or a strong background in Physical Sciences and/or Biological Sciences would be advantageous.
Suitable applicants will be responsible for developing a safe, rewarding and supportive learning environment for all students. Working in collaboration with other staff, suitable applicants will ideally have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum – including knowledge of how to plan, deliver and assess engaging and relevant units of work relating to Science.
Suitable applicants should have the knowledge and skills necessary to apply a range of engaging teaching strategies and develop a positive classroom learning environment. Teachers at Eastern Hills SHS are dedicated and intrinsically motivated educators; who have the ability to develop and differentiate high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Suitable applicants will ideally have an excellent working knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to teach students of varying ability levels across Year 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner.
You should be able to provide engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences. The learning environment you create should be differentiated, challenging, caring and creative, while catering for a range of needs that sees all students progressing and achieving. You should be able to utilise evidence-based teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
