Appointment Pool
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
About the Position
The Student Support Officer assists in the development and implementation of systems and intervention strategies to support students, family members and staff. You will establish and maintain links between the school and other appropriate agencies to provide a network of partnerships to better support students and undertake work assessments on students.
You will assist with administrative processes and provision of information to students, staff and parents, ensuring a responsive and effective student support service. The successful applicant will under direction, collaborate and conduct discussions with staff, parents/guardians and the community to identify student absenteeism and to collect and provide case information. You will assist with the implementation of a range of school attendance strategies.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
