The Role and our Branch
The Statewide Services Division is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic individual with the ability to deal with multiple demands.
You will ideally have experience in providing general and personal assistant administration in a complex environment. You will have the proven ability to coordinate multiple activities with minimal supervision and to tight timeframes with strong customer service focus with the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Your strong time management, organisational skills, and ability to coordinate and excellent attention to detail will be key to success in this role.
As the Administrative Assistant, you will provide general administrative support including asset and financial management, organisation of office and IT equipment and onboarding of new staff. You will also provide administrative support for managers including diary management venue bookings, catering, material preparation and meeting support.
The successful applicant will encourage and maintain a pleasant working environment and ensure the office is always operating at its maximum potential. Your role will entail maintaining office efficiency, communication and facilitating the efficient functioning of the office’s day-to-day procedures and operations including managing phone, emails and written correspondence, arranging meetings and providing general support to other staff members
In this role you will be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The Statewide Services Division is responsible for the delivery of integrated state-wide services for networks, schools and teachers that support the learning and achievement of every student. This is achieved through a focus on better integration of services with schools, students, families and external service providers; supporting schools and networks of schools to deliver high quality teaching and learning in every classroom; and creating expanded opportunities for students to develop the academic, personal and social competencies they will need to participate in the future workforce and society.

Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite in clerical and general administrative duties, including advanced word processing skills and proficiency with spreadsheets and databases and experience using an electronic records management system.
- Demonstrated good written, oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of individuals and provide customer-focussed services.
- Demonstrated experience in purchasing, processing accounts for payment and monitoring expenditure for a work unit.
- Demonstrated initiative and good organisational skills with the ability to meet competing priorities in a fast-paced business environment.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
