Appointment Pool
Payroll Services is seeking to establish an open recruitment pool of Payroll Officers for appointments to fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise up until the end of March 2023. This allows applicants to apply at any time during the life of the process.

The Role and our Branch
As a Payroll Officer you will:
- provide, generate, and maintain employee personal information and pay distributions.
- process employee commencements, movements, variations, and terminations.
- process leave, salary and allowance payments, income tax and overpayments.
- ensure work is timely, accurate and in line with applicable industrial instruments, legislation and Department policies and procedures.

Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply policies, procedures, industrial instruments, and legislation.
- Demonstrated experience with computerised human resource management information systems or equivalent and the ability to perform pay calculations, ensuring accuracy of complex payroll data.

The Application and Selection process
Recruitment processes for this open pool will be run approximately every 3 month/s. You will only need to submit one application.
The first round of assessments commences Monday, 28 March 2022. You will be notified when your application is being assessed and you will be advised of the outcome in due course, where you can reapply should you be unsuccessful.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
