Shenton College is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and collaborative Manager Corporate Services to join their team.  As a key member of the College’s Executive team you will play a crucial enabling role in ensuring we deliver on the broad objectives of our 2025 Business Plan: we are a boldly ambitious and proudly public school, committed to delivering the highest quality education to every student in our care. In this role, the successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of high level management for the school support staff and the development of effective working relationships with internal and external agencies and stakeholders. In collaboration with the Principal, Executive team, and Deaf School, they will provide strategic operational input to the development of the College’s workforce and business plans and oversee and report on the school’s financial performance.  Shenton College has over 300 experienced and committed staff dedicated to educating more than 2700 students.  The College is situated on a large campus that includes heritage buildings, the contemporary Shenton Learning Hub dedicated to the senior schools, and a well-established middle school – we are endowed with state of the art facilities across an extensive landscaped campus.

As the successful applicant you will ideally be an experienced leader and manager who can play an integral role in the school’s leadership team and you will ideally have demonstrated skills of a strategic thinking and capacity building for the development of business systems and service provision.  The position requires outstanding interpersonal skills and the desire to build cultures of trust.  In this position you will lead discussions in collaboration with the Executive and Leadership teams to develop and deliver bold, innovative, and creative solutions for the College whilst ensuring compliance with all financial requirements. You should have the ability to maintain and develop quality relationships with all stakeholders, including Department of Education representatives, parents, teachers, over 100 support staff, outside businesses, and community groups.  Your knowledge of how our system operates and the capacity to network across it will be highly valued.

The College embraces a tradition of excellence and enjoys a reputation for high academic, sporting, and cultural achievements for secondary students in Years 7 to 12. Whilst a large number of our students choose university bound courses, we also provide a range of options for all students with a developed culture that values certificate vocational courses, and extensive learning beyond the classroom.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • High level financial management abilities.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Management Act, reporting and governance requirements of Government organisations.
  • High level written and oral communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency in strategic human resource management.
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of business and marketing plans.
