About the Role
The successful applicant will teach English in the lower secondary (Years 7 to 10) in addition to teaching a combination of Foundation, General and/or ATAR level courses for Year 11 and 12 students. They should be highly organised and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
The Ideal Teacher
The successful applicant will ideally have sound interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work cooperatively in a learning area team. Sound classroom management and the ability to develop rapport and motivate students, differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and to practise a range of teaching strategies are key aspects of this position.
You will provide excellence in creating and maintaining supportive and safe learning environment and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. With effective interpersonal skills, the suitable applicants will work closely with students, colleagues and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.

Collie is a town set amongst rolling hills in the South West region of Western Australia, 213 kilometres south of the state capital, Perth and 59 kilometres inland from the regional city and port of Bunbury. It is near the junction of the Collie and Harris Rivers, in the middle of dense jarrah forest and the only coalfields in Western Australia

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
