About the Role
As a teacher at our school you will work collaboratively with others to help create and maintain an engaging and stimulating learning environment for students to enjoy and will be able to help inspire students to develop a passion for learning. We are seeking a teacher who will embrace the school priorities, create a warm, welcoming environment and collaborate successfully with other staff. The ideal applicant will have experience in an Early Childhood setting as well as appropriate qualifications.
You will embrace the school priorities and contribute beyond the classroom, whilst teaching a combined Kindergarten-Pre-primary class.
Our School
Mount Magnet DHS is in the Midwest Education District and is situated 569kms north east of Perth and 340kms east of Geraldton. The school is a multicultural environment with a diverse range of students from Mount Magnet and the surrounding Midwest District. The school caters for around 88 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and is guided by the expectations: We are Respectful, We are Responsible, We are Achievers.
The location and community
The school and town is located in Badimia Country, with a number of students and staff members closely connected to and continuing language and culture. The school has a Wajarri Language program and, along with visual arts, this is important in both the school and community. The School is part of the Murchison Network of schools comprising of Meekatharra District High School, Yulga Jinna Remote Community School, Cue Primary School, Yalgoo Primary School and Pia Wadjarri Remote Community School

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
