Appointment Pool
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
Dalyellup College is seeking to appoint a Student Support Officer to assist with administrative processes that ensure a responsive and effective student support service.
The Student Support Officer undertakes administrative processes in the context of Student Services to ensure responsive and effective student support services. The successful applicant will ideally possess the capacity to, under direction, collaborate and conduct discussions with staff, parents/guardians and the community to identify issues that impact student attendance and/or behaviour. They will ideally possess an ability to collect, prepare and provide case information to the student services team to assist in the development and implementation of intervention strategies and support programs for students at educational risk. This is an active role within the student services team, requiring a high degree of confidentiality and high level inter-personal skills and the capacity to use initiative under the direction of the team in a student-centred environment.
Dalyellup College features contemporary, state-of-the-art facilities located in the community of Dalyellup on the outskirts of Bunbury in the Capel Shire. It is an Independent Public School catering for approximately 800 secondary students from Year 7-12. The community of Dalyellup (‘a village in the forest by the sea’) is growing, with new land and homes being built. The College forms part of an Independent Public Schools Cluster together with Dalyellup Primary School, Tuart Forest Primary School and Capel Primary School.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide a professional, confidential service to a range of clients.
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Experience in the use of computerised management information systems including database, spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Effective organisational skills and experience in providing administrative support with the ability to manage conflicting timelines.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
