Darlington Primary School (PS) are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated Teacher - Primary – Visual Arts to join our team.
The successful applicant will work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the school community. The successful applicant will ideally be flexible, creative and forward thinking and exhibit their passion for the Arts. The successful applicant should be confident in teaching students across Pre-primary to Year 6 with particular focus on providing relevant and engaging lessons linking to the Western Australian Curriculum.
Darlington PS has a long tradition of providing a quality education to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The community is particularly interested in Visual Art, hosting the annual Darlington Arts Festival. Key features of our school include the early learning centre for students in Kindergarten and Pre-primary; our magnificent amphitheatre; and our classroom and lunch shed which is recognised by the National Trust as having historical significance.
Our school motto of 'Resilience, Initiative, Integrity, Care' is regularly demonstrated in the actions of our students who achieve well both academically and socially. Our specialist programs in Music and Visual Art, Italian, Science and Physical Education ensure our students receive a well-rounded education.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
