The Role and our Branch
This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated and committed professional to join our team as Principal Consultant Statewide Services.
The Statewide Services division provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. It is currently transitioning to a new service delivery model to strengthen its services and supports to schools and the education system

In this key role you will provide professional support and advice to the Executive Director for the effective development, implementation, and coordination of strategies, programs and initiatives.
You will draw on your exceptional communication and analytical skills to research, prepare and review briefings, reports and discussion papers for presentation to the department’s executive and the Minister’s office. Ideally, you will possess substantial knowledge of public education, together with a broad understanding of Government priorities and election commitments as they relate to education in Western Australia.
A key strength should be your ability to establish collaborative working relationships and maintain effective communication networks across Statewide Services, the broader department, other government agencies, and stakeholders.

- Demonstrated highly developed written communication skills, including extensive experience in the preparation of correspondence, reports, Ministerials, briefing notes and policy.
- Demonstrated highly developed organisational skills with a proven ability to deliver outcomes on schedule in a demanding environment and under tight timeframes.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
