Appointment Pool
Eaton Community College (CC) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
The successful applicant will be highly effective in engaging and motivating students and managing a positive learning environment. They would also ideally possess superior interpersonal skills and work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students.
It is desirable that the successful applicant have experience in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) English as well as General and Foundation English courses. The successful applicant would work as part of a dedicated team to develop, review and deliver English curriculum. To be successful in this role, they would strive to have strong teaching and classroom management skills and will be able to develop good relationships with all students and engage them in effective learning. Applicants would need to have a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at the secondary phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and will be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students. The successful applicant will ideally have proven skills in behaviour management, curriculum expertise and have achieved high levels of student achievement in English. They will have a commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes. There is an expectation that all teachers will engage in reflective practice, informed by classroom observations, student feedback surveys and close examination of student performance data.
To be successful, you will be a student and relationship focused teacher who is highly motivated, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as possessingo an engaging and energetic teaching style. You will be able to reflect and assess the effectiveness of teaching practices using a variety of methods suited to the learning environment and the College. The expectations are about promoting an environment of active and positive learning and providing educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve success. An ability and the qualifications to teach across other learning areas would be advantageous.

All staff are expected to adhere to the Department of Education Code of Conduct and actively participate in the school community. In addition, we provide every student with an Apple MacBook and therefore it is expected that staff will maximise the use of the web-based student portal Connect to provide online teaching, learning and assessments and transition away from a paper-based classroom.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
