Are you an organised and dedicated Librarian looking to develop a central hub of resources?
Bob Hawke College is seeking to appoint a dynamic and customer-focused Librarian to join our team.
The successful applicant will ideally have strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide a library information service for the College and supervise library operations. In this role you will have the opportunity to supervise groups of students outside lesson times or for in class learning activities, providing expertise in developing student knowledge of library and information services. You’ll work closely with staff to provide advice and resources to support teaching and learning programs across the curriculum. We are seeking someone with a friendly, proactive approach who can effectively manage human, financial and physical resources to deliver a library and information service that meets the needs of our innovative and growing College. You’ll contribute to creating a safe and effective learning environment for students, staff and the wider community.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Understanding of the use of curriculum resources in the teaching and learning process and ability to identify, select and evaluate resources to support different learning difference.
- Experience in developing student literacy and other student-centred educational programs in an educational or community library environment.
- Leadership, and management skills and the ability to contribute to the professional development of others.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders, and provide a customer-focused service.
- Highly developed skills in library management systems and other computer applications.
- Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification and be eligible for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
