This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2022.
East Hamilton Hill Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and dedicated Science Teacher to join our collaborative team in 2022. We are looking for an innovative, student and relationship-focused teacher to work as a specialist with Year 1 to 6 students.
The successful applicant will ideally build trusting quality relationships with students, parents and staff. You should have the skills to support and encourage students to achieve the aims outlined in the Western Australian curriculum and be committed to integrating Science with Digital Technologies and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to create a 21st Century Learning Environment. You will be responsible for delivering differentiated activities and modified programs for support and extension. The successful applicant will work closely with external agencies ensuring students experience real life experiences that foster a love of science and learning. To be successful, you should have a working knowledge of the science curriculum, inquiry learning and high impact teaching strategies.
As a science teacher at East Hamilton Hill PS you will cultivate curiosity, make learning authentic, know the power of play and question students in a hands-on classroom that promotes critical and creative thinking. You will ideally create and conduct science investigations that incorporate problem solving and collaborative learning. You will deliver a high-quality education within the school’s expectations of implementing an inquiry-based learning environment, and embracing classroom observation, feedback, and coaching structures.

Established in 1960, East Hamilton Hill PS is an Independent Public School, located 5km south-east of Fremantle. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
