The Sustainability Unit within the Capital Works and Maintenance Directorate is responsible for bringing together all the sustainability activities currently being delivered across the organisation under a unified and strategic systems approach at public schools across the State.
The Unit is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Project Officer to manage the coordination, planning, design and development of projects as part of the Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund.
The objective of the Fund is to reduce schools’ carbon emissions and assist in the reduction of energy costs. The resultant program of works will deliver solar installations and other energy efficiencies to schools across the state
The successful applicant will ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned to the objectives of the fund as well as provide project related advice to schools as required. The successful applicant will also develop and prepare reports, briefings and ministerial requests relating to the Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
