Narrogin Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated, innovative, highly competent and enthusiastic Teacher – Mathematics. The successful applicant will ideally be highly proficient in both motivating and engaging their students. They will also ideally possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high expectations, a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment.
The successful applicant will ideally be an outstanding educator with an ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery within the Mathematics learning area. They should have thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum design whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Mathematics Learning Area. The successful applicant should be performance driven, use evidence based decision making skills and be self-motivated, prepared to enthusiastically embrace new opportunities and work proactively within a team environment. Applicants should be able to teach the Mathematics curriculum from Year 7 to 12, however, capacity to teach Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Mathematics is also desirable but not essential.
The successful applicant should have a real care and consideration for students and have highly effective teaching practices and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice. An excellent knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, and a capacity to deliver content in an engaging manner to instil our students with a passion for literacy, numeracy and the subject area are also desirable qualities of the successful applicant.

Narrogin is located in a picturesque valley surrounded by woodlands, farming country and rolling hills. Narrogin is approximately two hours from Perth, has an excellent range of commercial services, beautiful gardens and a reputation as a great place to live. You will be supported in moving to Narrogin with relocation costs and subsidised housing provided. The school also delivers a comprehensive induction program which involves the opportunity to connect with the wider community.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
