Belridge Secondary College (SC) is seeking an innovative and dynamic Deputy Principal to join the Executive Team.
The successful applicant should possess outstanding interpersonal skills and have the ability to work alongside students, teachers, parents, and the community to forward our college vision and values. They should be able to work as part of a team and display high levels of professional conduct, communication and integrity.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join a leadership team dedicated to designing and developing a distinctive, world class educational environment. They will play a significant role in supporting the continued implementation of Belridge SC’s RLEARNERS Teaching and Learning Framework that underpins the teaching and learning that takes place at the College. The successful applicant will lead staff to reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational leadership which enables students to achieve their highest potential.
The successful applicant will support and forward our clear focus on high standards of student achievement. Systematic assessment and reporting procedures are carried out at the highest level, confirming performance and guiding the setting of future targets for the school. The Deputy Principal will play a key role in school planning processes including: the analysis of student performance data, development of performance and improvement plans and implementation of evidence based approaches to support student performance. The successful applicant will work closely with students, staff and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for all students.
Depth of experience and ability across a range of portfolios would be highly regarded by the panel. These portfolios could include but are not limited to Leadership in:

- Timetabling

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
