South Ballajura Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to employ a highly motivated, positive and knowledgeable Education Support teacher.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated; student and relationship focused and be able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences, integrating STEM/ICT, for students with special needs. As the successful applicant, you will ideally have expertise in planning and delivering individual student and evidence based programs to ensure Individual Education Plan (IEP) objectives are achieved, as well as advanced skills in developing and implementing effective Behaviour Support Plans and strategies for students with a diverse range of co-morbid disabilities, complex communication needs and challenging behaviours.
Knowledge and experience in the school priority areas of contemporary Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI), ‘You Can Do It’ and Team-Teach are highly regarded.
The successful candidate will ideally have effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with others and lead a team of Education Assistants working in support roles. The successful applicant will ideally have the capacity to work effectively with students, teachers and the campus and wider community to ensure rigour, resilience and pride, allowing students to achieve to their full potential and flourish.
South Ballajura ESC is a highly successful Independent Public School and is a purpose built Kindergarten to Year 6 multicultural school for students with diagnosed disabilities. We are co-located with our partner primary school. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
