Malibu School are seeking a dedicated Education Support Teacher to join their friendly and supportive team, we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and innovative Education Support teacher who is looking for exciting and rewarding challenges.
Malibu School is a specialist school for students with special need in Kindergarten to Year 12. A high level knowledge of a range of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and devices will be highly regarded as is a strong knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and Team Teach approaches and practices and Protective Education.
The successful applicant will ideally be a genuine innovator who displays creative planning and instructional flexibility, drawing on relevant evidence-based teaching strategies and differentiated learning and assessment approaches, to further students’ Personal, Social, Literacy and Numeracy development. Competent use of a range of technologies and experience in cross-curricular planning, aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and Abilities Based Learning Education, Western Australia (ABLEWA), is desirable. Experience in the development and delivery of practical Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs, relevant to the needs of our students, is highly regarded.
The successful applicant should be confident class team leaders, collaborating with colleagues within each phase of learning and liaising with families and therapists to meet the educational and care needs of the students. Applicants who are passionate about students in an education support environment and active in promoting their communication, resilience and independence, are encouraged to apply.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
