Woodlands Primary School (PS) is seeking an outstanding Early Childhood Education teacher for a junior primary classroom role. The successful applicant should be an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic educator with the ability to provide high quality, contemporary teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of all students.

Teachers at Woodlands PS design structured, intentional teaching and learning programs which are differentiated to suit each child’s learning needs. The school values a play-based learning approach and provides a balanced curriculum in order to give students a solid start in the early years. Whole school approaches include; a BYO iPad program, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Letters and Sounds and Kagan Cooperative Learning. Literacy and Numeracy blocks are implemented consistently across the school and employ a whole-school lesson design. Appropriate formative and summative assessment practices are used to track student achievement and improvement. Teachers work in collaborative teams, meeting regularly with the leadership team to discuss planning, teaching and assessment programs.
The successful candidate will ideally display their experience with high impact teaching strategies, utilising and integrating a variety of information and technology tools and platforms to support and develop student learning.
At Woodlands PS all educators take a personal and collective responsibility for improving student learning and wellbeing by working together and learning from each other’s practices. The successful applicant will promote, model and maintain high expectations and adhere to whole school approaches that are evidence based and supported by research.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
