Connolly Primary School (PS) is seeking an experienced, innovative and dedicated Teacher – Early Childhood Education Teacher to join their team.
We are looking for a successful applicant to join our established team who displays a strong knowledge of the WA Curriculum, Early Years Learning Framework, and National Quality Standards. They should be able to plan and teach in a collaborative environment with highly developed competencies in differentiating the curriculum.
The successful applicant will ideally be conscientious and have a diligent approach to the role. They should also be a collaborative, active and flexible staff member who displays high interpersonal and problem solving skills. The successful applicant should have a passion for play based, hands on learning and be able to balance this approach with explicit teaching and learning in all curriculum areas. Student voice and interests must be considered when planning and they should display highly developed organisational skills, flexibility, and a commitment to implementing whole school programs. A knowledge of the Pre-Lit and Initial Lit programs are desirable as is the use of daily reviews in literacy and numeracy.

Catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 our students are provided with excellent educational opportunities designed around their individual needs. We offer specialist programs in Physical Education, Science, Music, and Japanese. We also run a specialist instrumental music program.

Our school was a Teacher Development School for Special Educational Needs that provided us a network to share and develop our outstanding practices with other schools across Western Australia.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
