Braeside Primary School (BPS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join their Early Years team. For 2022 the teacher will deliver a Kindergarten program 3 days per week.

Our Early Years Philosophy drives the Braeside Early Years Program and as a Kindergarten teacher at Braeside, it is expected that your personal philosophy aligns to this.
Our Early Years fosters a sense of belonging for the whole child including emotional, physical and academic development. We provide this through a balance of play based and explicit teaching experiences including KOLP, extended play periods with intentional outdoor play experiences and the following of the whole school plans. Parent engagement and involvement is a crucial part of the Early Years. All staff involved in the Early Years are actively engaged and supportive of our Early Years philosophy.
The successful applicant should be committed to reflective teaching practices through active participation in a culture of professional growth. This will include coaching, classroom observation and feedback as well as teachers who are committed to their own professional learning to ensure they maintain and build on contemporary, evidence-based approaches. The BPS teaching team will participate in whole school, phase of learning as well as curriculum teams to contribute and commit to a whole school approaches to teaching and learning. Our educators will be committed to continuous self-improvement and building their leadership skills both within and beyond the classroom.
Effective relationships and partnerships promote positive outcomes for students are central to everything we do. We are seeking teachers with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, which underpin professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
