Appointment Pool
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
East Victoria Park Education Support Centre (EVPESC) is seeking dedicated Teachers in Education Support to join their team.
Suitable applicants should have the ability to collaborate and plan with teachers, therapists and parents/carers to support and provide successful outcomes for the students. Suitable applicants will collaborate with learning teams to plan, assess and contribute to school programs and with other teams across the school and ideally have experience with and capacity to work with Information Technology (IT) inside and outside the classroom. They will also ideally have the capacity to plan and provide appropriate communication strategies for all students.
Suitable applicants should be positive and professional with excellent interpersonal skills. They would be part of a progressive professional learning team that strives to provide the best opportunities to all students enrolled. Staff work closely with the mainstream staff in the primary school and provide a range of learning opportunities within both schools.
Communication, Managing Student Behaviour and Health and Well Being for students and staff are our current priority areas. Knowledge and understanding in these areas is desirable. Experience with using Key Signs, Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH), Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), along with a knowledge of working with students with Autism are also desirable.
EVPESC is an inclusive school that provides educational programmes for a range of students with special needs. It caters for approximately 40 children with intellectual disabilities and or physical disabilities and staff are specifically trained to support these children. An enthusiastic team of teachers and Education Assistants are committed to providing a safe, inclusive learning environment and quality education for all children.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
