Appointment Pool
Kinross College are seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
As a teacher at Kinross College, suitable applicants will work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the College community. Suitable applicants will ideally be confident in teaching students across Years 7 to 10 with particular focus on providing relevant and engaging courses linking to the Western Australian Curriculum. They should also be able to incorporate technology to best meet the needs of our students based on researched informed pedagogy.

They will also ideally be flexible and adaptive, and be able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching.

They will differentiate curriculum to meet the learning needs of your students and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. With ideally effective interpersonal skills, and a willingness to adopt a ‘restorative’ approach, suitable applicants will work with students, teachers, and the community to instil our school values, allowing students to achieve their full potential.
As an English Teacher - you will be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students according to the needs of the school community, and modelling exemplary classroom practice. There is scope to develop your skills in emerging technologies including automated production and to further your aspirational interests. Suitable applicants would also assist in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, integrate information technology into the curriculum, assist with the pastoral care of students and liaise with parents as required.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
