Warwick Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly focused and enthusiastic individual to lead their Student Services team. In collaboration with the Principal and members of the administrative team, the Head of Student Services will lead and provide direction to a large Student Services team while building capacity and cohesion amongst staff. They will take an active role in the ongoing development and implementation of a positive and caring learning environment across Years 7-12 through the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model.
The successful applicant should have proven and effective leadership qualities including the capacity to strategically lead evidence-based improvements, inspire others, and build and maintain effective working relationships with parents, students and teachers through highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. The Head of Student Services will lead and manage the Student Services team to provide tiered interventions (which includes case management processes), support and development programs for students. These strategies are integral to enhancing student engagement to ensure high educational outcomes for all students. The successful applicant will work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the Warwick SHS school community.
The Head of Student Services will lead the Student Services Team and work collaboratively with the Student Services Managers, School Psychologist, Nurse, Chaplain, Clerical Officers and Aboriginal and Islander Education officer. They will also work collaboratively with other major stakeholders. As the Head of Student Services, you would establish and manage administrative and operational systems in the relevant areas of responsibility to deliver effective school operations within legislative and industrial policy and guidelines.
The successful applicant will play a significant role in the daily management of staff and student wellbeing and should be able to lead all staff in developing and implementing strategies to promote a whole-school focus on student engagement and well-being.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students, (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
