Gairdner Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a hardworking and motivated Cleaner – Working Alone to join our friendly and supportive team.
Please note, there is no housing available in the area.
The successful applicant will be an organised, team orientated person who takes pride in their work and works with other staff to create a pleasant clean environment for all staff and students to enjoy. You will be tasked with cleaning of the school to maintain hygiene and cleanliness so we can all be proud to work at the school. This includes regular afternoon cleaning of all classrooms, toilets and vacation cleaning. We are looking for someone to work Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
We are a small friendly school where all staff work together to achieve the best results for the students, staff and the broader community. The school is the central point of the community and has good support from parents.
Gairdner PS is an Independent Public School located 145kms east of Albany. Our small school is integral to the thriving rural community of Gairdner and has strong links with the neighbouring towns of Jerramungup, Bremer Bay, Borden, Ongerup and Wellstead. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior tocommencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete the Department’s online training in manual tasks and hazardous substances within three months of commencement
- Complete Fundamentals of Cleaning training as soon as practicable
- Complete any other training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process
