Braeside Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated Primary Teacher to join their friendly team.

In partnership with families, our goal is for all students to make year on year growth. High performing learning communities consistently use evidence based teaching and learning practices that prioritise the reflective use of data and embedded differentiation to support all students. Teachers at Braeside PS apply high impact teaching strategies and use ongoing formative assessment to provide feedback to students at the point of error, measure student progress, differentiate teaching and plan next steps in learning. As a newly Independent Public School we are commencing a three-year Visible Learning School Improvement focus in 2021. This will see every student at Braeside learning not by chance, but by design, as staff work together to maximise impact on student learning.
Our pastoral care program includes a range of programs that target values and skills including; Zones of Regulation, Aussie Optimism and Positive Behaviour Support. A collaborative team approach will ensure individualised and targeted intervention, through case management and withdrawal programs. Our PBS and Visible Learning programs are a whole school approach to student engagement through an intentional approach to academic and social Well-being.
Our whole school evidence informed approaches ensure that every child acquires the core literacy and numeracy skills, as well as the knowledge and attitudes required to become confident and competent 21st century learners. Our school reflects the needs and interests of a contemporary community that is quickly evolving through rapid advances in technology, which brings new and exciting teaching and learning opportunities. We will work in partnership with the community to develop and deliver innovative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs.
The successful applicant will be committed to reflective teaching practices through active participation in a culture of professional growth. This will include coaching, classroom observation and feedback as well as teachers who are committed to their own professional learning to ensure they maintain and build on contemporary, evidence-based approaches. The Braeside PS teaching team will participate in whole school, phase of learning as well as curriculum teams to contribute and commit to a whole school approaches to teaching and learning. Our educators will be committed to continuous self-improvement and building their leadership skills both within and beyond the classroom.
Effective relationships and partnerships promote positive outcomes for students are central to everything we do. We are seeking teachers with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, which underpin professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. With effective interpersonal skills, we will work together to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
