Appointment Pool
Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic Mathematics Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
Suitable applicants will ideally have experience in teaching Mathematics Applications, Mathematics Methods or Specialist Mathematics at Year 11 and 12 level. Successful applicants will be dedicated and highly motivated educators with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Furthermore, ideally the suitable applicants would possess excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum; be able to deliver content in an engaging manner; have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be a highly effective team member. Experience with Gifted and Talented students and an ability to effectively differentiate for both academic extension and Students at Educational Risk (SAER) students will be highly valued. The ability to teach Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) levels will be seen as advantageous. Duncraig SHS offers a wide range of extra curricula programs and opportunities for students and applicants who demonstrate a history and/or passion for being involved in these important complementary programs would be highly regarded.

Duncraig SHS places significant focus on the quality of the teaching and learning that takes place with a particular focus on maximising student engagement and student learning outcomes. Suitable applicants should have a genuine interest in working in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area (HOLA) to lead improvements in pedagogy, curriculum and student achievement across Year 7 to 12. Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging Information Communication Technology (ICT) based technologies in the classroom is important as Duncraig SHS operates a 1:1 personal ICT device policy that is firmly embedded across all learning areas. A familiarity with SEQTA would be well regarded as this is the online learning management system used at Duncraig SHS.
Duncraig SHS is situated in the north-western suburbs on the coastal strip 18km from Perth. We cater for students from Year 7 to Year 12 and are a school of high standards where the care and progress of every child is our first priority. We continue to improve our resources and facilities through the support of our Board, our parent body and the Education Department. With a growing school population, and a recent announcement of $30.8 million to build additional permanent specialist facilities, Duncraig SHS is a school of choice.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
