This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing ASAP
The South Metropolitan Education Region are seeking an Administration Assistant - Participation to join their friendly team. This position is based at Woodlupine Primary School in Forrestfield and reports to the Engagement and Transitions Manager.
The successful applicant will be responsible for purchasing stationery and equipment using Common Use Arrangements, timely processing of accounts and credit card reconciliation, and data entry using Microsoft software and Participation databases. They will establish effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The Participation Teams provide outreach support to disengaged Year 10-12 students in the southeast metropolitan corridor. Participation Coordinators work closely with Schools, TAFE and Private Training providers as well as support services, various government and non-government agencies and employers, to broker placements and appropriate pathway options for compulsory school aged students.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our division for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Sound knowledge and experience in providing effective administrative and clerical services.
- Experience in the use of computers and computer-based software programs.
- Effective organisational skills with the ability to use initiative and work independently and in a team environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of individuals at all levels.
- Sound knowledge of Common Use Arrangements and experience in purchasing and processing accounts for payment.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
