North Albany Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Health and Physical Education Teacher. The successful applicant will be well organised, motivated and committed to developing positive relationships and high expectations for all students. Please note there will be the possibility of an FTE increase to 0.8 for 2022.
This role includes overnight camps that you will attend and teaching students from Years 7 to 12 and working collaboratively with staff to provide an effective program. It is highly desired that the successful applicant has/or is willing to obtain a bus license together with swimming and water safety qualifications. You will have knowledge and competencies in the Health and Physical Education component of the Western Australian Curriculum and the ability to teach up to Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) level. A strong interest and or background in Basketball and or Volleyball will be desirable.
We are looking for a successful applicant who can build a strong, engaging and hands on learning program in health and physical education, building sustainable links with the local community and providing extracurricular sporting opportunities.
North Albany SHS is an Independent Public School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
