WA College of Agriculture – Narrogin is looking for a dedicated and experienced Technical Officer - Agricultural Instruction - Cropping.
The successful applicant will be someone who can possess sound knowledge in cereal, legume and pulse cropping enterprises with relevant experience operating equipment, including auto guidance technology in seeding, spraying and harvesting equipment, preferably with prior experience within the WA Wheatbelt. You must enjoy outdoor work in all weathers, display honesty, integrity and initiative, and have a willingness to work with students in a team environment via a teaching/training capacity. The successful applicant will also assist with the instruction, supervision, assessment and monitoring of students across other enterprise areas of practical farming to Certificate’s II and Ill in Agriculture levels. Ideally, the person would hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or be prepared to achieve this on appointment.
The WA College of Agriculture - Narrogin is the oldest agricultural college in Western Australia. The College consistently delivers quality education and training to young men and women who wish to undertake their senior secondary schooling in an agricultural or trade context. Located 10kms west of the regional town of Narrogin, the College is a day and boarding school that offers specialist secondary education for Years 10 to 12 students in a supportive rural community.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
Please note: The salary level for this position will be determined after the successful applicant is assessed as addressing all eligibility and selection criteria indicated in the relevant attached JDF in the context of the outcomes and selection criteria described.
The highest rate an applicant can start at as a L1 is Level 1.4 (as negotiated with the principal). However, applicants may still be able to commence at a L2.1 or L3.1 if suitably qualified or with requisite experience.
Level 2, $62,172 - $67,256 per annum (PSCA 2019)
Level 3, $70,896 - $76,717 per annum (PSCA 2019)
