Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher looking for a rewarding change?
Dandaragan Primary School (PS) is seeking a passionate and committed Early Childhood Teacher to join our friendly and supportive school community.
The successful applicant will provide a nurturing, play-based education for Early Childhood students in a multi-aged class using the School Business Plan and Department of Education guidelines.
The successful applicant will ideally possess a strong knowledge of all key elements of Early Years pedagogy and curriculum as well as an ability to inspire students to develop a passion for learning in vibrant, engaging and supportive classrooms. You will ideally have the ability to plan for, teach and assess a multi-aged class. The successful applicant will ideally be highly motivated, display excellent interpersonal skills and have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. You should be able to work well with Education Assistants, utilising their skills and abilities to assist you in teaching activities, and contribute to whole school activities.
Ideally, the successful applicant will display highly developed competencies in differentiating the curriculum according to student needs and will be able to structure learning experiences within an environment which balances the need for purposeful play, whilst using explicit pedagogies to support language development. They should provide a nurturing and supportive environment that ensures the wellbeing of all and build positive relationships with all members of the school community. Knowledge of Letters and Sounds and Talk 4 Writing is highly desirable. Dandaragan PS takes part in many extra-curricular activities including sport and performing arts. Skills in these areas would be beneficial.
Dandaragan PS is a small rural close knit community within 170km from Perth. The school has a family atmosphere and is well supported by the community. Students are from families in farming, mining and rural support industries and businesses.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
