Ocean Reef Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a passionate, innovative and committed professional who can work as part of a team to provide leadership in the school and community. The Learning Support Coordinator will work collaboratively with the School Leadership team, and as a member of the Student Services team, to provide an inclusive educational environment that provides additional support for individual students and their learning needs. Supporting teachers to develop strategies to differentiate their curriculum to address the learning needs of all students is a key aspect of this role. A high level of interpersonal skills and drive, with the ability to establish and maintain networks, both internally and externally, will be highly regarded. On a day-to-day basis, this position requires significant expertise in the management of individual, group and school behaviours, attendance, social-emotional and academic wellbeing. The successful applicant should have the ability to foster positive relationships with all stakeholders and to provide timely and appropriate support to students, staff and families, using a case management model.
A large portion of this role will require exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to manage time effectively, prioritise, keep accurate records and the ability to analyse a wide range of data to inform future practice.
The Learning Support Coordinator leads the Learning Support team and is responsible for line managing Education Assistants, including the creation and management of Education Assistant’s timetables. The successful applicant will ideally be skilled in the completion and review of Individual Disability Allocations, leading the development of Individual Education Plans for Students at Education Risk, SEN Planning and Reporting, coordinating special exam arrangements, leading the administration of PAT testing, managing and collecting data for National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), supporting the improvement of Literacy and Numeracy outcomes, supporting NAPLAN and OLNA testing, supporting Year 6 transition, and delivering professional learning programs for staff. An understanding of curriculums and pathways is highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
