Lesmurdie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Fixed Term Mathematics teacher who is responsive to change and can cater for the learning styles of future-ready students.
The successful applicant should have a proven ability to facilitate the development of independent and confident learners and be willing to join our team of like-minded professionals. To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills, be relationship focused and your classroom practice should be engaging, relevant and meaningful learning.
You should have the capacity to teach a range of abilities across Years 7 to 12 and use intervention strategies to support student improvement in NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) and achievement in OLNA (Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment).
The successful applicant will be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of their teaching practice and be able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment, underpinning Lesmurdie SHS core values; Curiosity, Aspiration, Respect and Environment. You will work collaboratively with all members of the school and wider community to provide quality educational experiences through promoting the school’s vision and strategic directions.

We have a DoE recognised Specialist Enrichment and Acceleration Program in Mathematics and Science (LEAP). This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
