Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH704255
Appointment Pool
Bridgetown Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers from Kindergarten to Year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
We are looking for self-motivated and innovative teachers who display a growth mindset. They will ideally need to exhibit a high level of collaborative practice to enable effective participation and engagement within the school, with teacher observations and a coaching culture forming part of this work. They should be prepared to actively engage in whole school, phase planning and curriculum development with a purpose to raise student performance standards.
Suitable applicants will ideally have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and use a range of contemporary strategies to deliver the curriculum, including the integration of ICT. They should have high expectations for student achievement, promote excellence, have the ability to differentiate the curriculum for all students and provide timely and effective student feedback. We are seeking teachers who are self-reflective and continually monitor the impact of their teaching in the classroom through the ongoing, rigorous analysis of student data, which informs and monitors classroom practice.
Ideally applicants will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively as part of a Professional Learning Community. They will build positive working relationships with parents and all staff, not just those in their learning phase. They should have the confidence to be willing and able to move across year levels and learning phases, over time.
It is highly desirable that suitable applicants will develop and maintain positive relationships with students and understand the importance of social-emotional learning in a child’s development.
Whole school approaches are implemented with the understanding that they contribute to a reduction in cognitive overload. Suitable applicants should align their teaching to support whole school approaches including Talk4Writing, Seven Steps to Writing Success and Letters and Sounds/Soundwaves.
Bridgetown PS has committed to High Impact Instruction in order to develop the skills, knowledge and strategies required to improve student learning. Teachers with a skill set around explicit direct instruction are encouraged to apply, as are teachers with a strong commitment to developing this skill set.
Bridgetown PS is a small independent public school which provides opportunities for collaborative teamwork and children from Kindergarten to Year 6 to learn and grow in a safe, caring learning environment. We encourage teachers to take a leadership role in strategic initiatives and to provide support to other colleagues. Children are at the forefront of everything we do. We value the whole child and believe children have a voice that should be heard. We believe in the importance of addressing both the academic needs and social emotional well-being of our students, including trauma informed practice and positive management strategies. We foster strong home and school partnerships to enable improved student learning.
