This is a twenty-four (24) month fixed term, full-time position commencing January 2022 with possible extension (36 months) and/or permanency
Early Childhood Education – Literacy and Numeracy are seeking a Project Officer – Universal Access to join their small team of dedicated professionals.
The recommended application will provide assistance to manage the current Universal Access National Partnership (UANP and yet-to-be-negotiated new Preschool Reform Agreement). This includes financial management and data spreadsheet work, executive support for State and national meetings, coordination and support for projects, and professional learning paid for through the UANP. Experience using excel spreadsheets, financial skills, organisational and time management skills, attention to detail and good interpersonal skills to work with colleagues and senior personnel would be highly regarded.
The Early Childhood Education team work collaboratively and support each other. Through the realignment of Statewide Services, the team will grow to Primary, Early Childhood, and Education Support and this position may move to another Branch at Statewide services.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our division for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Research, analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to achieve comprehensive, accurate and timely outcomes against a defined project brief.
- Sound written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefings and correspondence.
- Sound oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with individuals, groups and organisations.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, assist and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.
- Sound organisational skills with an ability to work independently and as part of a team

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
