West Beechboro Primary School (PS) is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher - Primary - Physical Education to join their team.
The successful applicant will ideally be highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic in the promotion of Physical Education and Health within the school and will be responsible for the coordination and organisation of all school sporting events. Applicants that are well organised, motivated and committed to developing positive relationships and high expectations for all students will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will ideally have experience, and an understanding, of the application of a Fundamental Movement Skills program through the exploration of the principles of BluEarth or similar approaches. Further to this, it would be advantageous for the successful applicant to have some experience and a background in classroom teaching as they will not only be required to oversee the whole of school physical education program, but also work alongside the school’s classroom teachers. From a teaching perspective, the successful applicant should ideally have an understanding of explicit instructional practices, outstanding communication and organisational skills; resilience and the proven ability to work, collaboratively, with colleagues. Further to this, the successful applicant will also ideally have experience in embedding whole-school approaches and engaging students in the use of self-regulating their behaviours.
The ability to engage with outside agencies in supporting and developing the school’s physical education program is a significant part of this role and the school communities desire to further expand the opportunities that our students are able to experience.
West Beechboro PS is an Independent Public School catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school is culturally diverse and educates students from many backgrounds.
We offer a variety of integrated learning programs. While literacy and numeracy are priority areas, science, technology, arts and humanities are interwoven to ensure students receive a holistic, well-balanced, education. Our staff continually review our teaching framework to ensure consistent learning and communication is delivered to the school community.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
