Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher who wants to make a positive difference?
Ocean Reef Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of inspirational and engaging Visual Arts Teachers to further develop a culture of excellence in teaching and learning in our Arts Learning Area. Appointments are for permanent and fixed term, full time and part time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 and 2022 school years. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2021 and 2022 school years.
Suitable applicants will ideally have an in-depth understanding of the Visual Arts curriculum and capacity to teach Visual Arts across Years 7 to 12. Suitable applicants should have effective interpersonal skills as you work collaboratively with the Arts team and lead within the Visual Arts area. Visual Arts at Ocean Reef SHS incorporates all three fields: art, craft and design. Suitable applicants will engage students in a journey of discovery, experimentation and problem-solving relevant to visual perception and visual language. Capacity to engage students in a creative journey utilising visual techniques, technologies, practices and processes is highly desirable.
You will ideally engage in reflective practice, have a strong evidence-based teaching approach, and be committed to Ocean Reef SHS whole-school pedagogical approaches. Effective classroom management, the ability to differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and promote an environment of active and positive learning are also a strong focus for the position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
