Are you a talented, dedicated and professional Languages teacher looking for a rewarding career to teach in one of Western Australia’s top performing public schools?
Willetton Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers of French for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2023.
Suitable applicants will be relationships focused and should display strong interpersonal skills necessary to work collaboratively in a large team environment. With high expectations and a commitment to excellence, suitable applicants will also have a willingness and the ability to effectively teach a diverse range of students from Year 7 to ATAR 12 level. Using flexible and differentiated teaching strategies, languages teachers at Willetton employ inclusive practices to motivate all students, including Gifted and Talented, Academic Extension, EAL/D and Learning Support.
Willetton SHS is a Teacher Development School (TDS) for Languages. TDSs deliver practical, school-based professional learning opportunities for teachers and school leaders to learn directly from the successful practices of others. Suitable applicants will be part of the team which supports the professional learning of languages teachers throughout Western Australian public schools.
Suitable applicants will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole school approach to the educational programs offered. Applicants should have a willingness to lead curriculum development and teaching pedagogy to meet the needs of Year 7 to Year 12 students. Graduate teachers are encouraged to apply for this pool.
Willetton SHS is one of the largest schools in Western Australia, drawing its student enrolment from diverse geographic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. With a student population in excess of 2600 and approximately 200 teaching staff and 120 support staff on campus the school is inclusive and comprehensive providing courses for Years 7 to 12. It is the school of choice for many local and international families.

Willetton SHS achieves outstanding results in many areas and some of these are national testing and WACE. The Languages learning area is no exception, conducting rigorous data analysis for improvement in student performance and engaging students in a challenging and relevant curriculum. The school continues to undergo major building upgrades to complement the vision of providing exceptional education facilities for all our students.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
