Ridge View Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School (IPS) seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Senior School Pathways Coordinator (SSPC) who ideally has excellent knowledge and understanding of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA), vocational education and School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) policy and procedures.
The successful applicant should be highly organised, plans time very well while also having highly effective interpersonal skills. Ridge View SC is a new and growing college which will have years 7-10 in 2022 and will be preparing for the first Year 11 cohort in 2023.
This position will be mostly a non-teaching role in 2022 in order to prepare effectively for senior schooling in the following year. In 2023 this position would have a teaching component.
The successful applicant will contribute to the planning and design of upper school pathways and courses in preparation for upper school students. The successful applicant will ideally have high standards of professionalism and embrace opportunities for collaboration within and beyond the college community. The ability to work positively and effectively in teams and be open to new thinking is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will be expected to plan for, implement and monitor the OLNA with the aim being that all students are supported in achieving the OLNA by Year 12. The SSPC will inform and counsel students and parents about senior school pathways, course offerings and subject selections.
Highly effective written communication skills will be considered favourably as numerous handbooks and guides will need to be produced. The successful applicant will attend a number of network meetings and negotiate partnerships and positive opportunities for students, especially in Vocational Education and Training (VET). The role includes the need to use data effectively to inform decisions and to plan for the future.
The SSPC will also track all student progress towards the WACE and to implement processes to support students at educational risk. The SSPC will also be a member of the college’s Senior Leadership Team.
Candidates who have a high level of knowledge and understanding about senior school pathways and courses, WACE, SCSA policy and procedures, VET, funding associated with VET, work experience procedures, traineeships and pre-apprenticeships are encouraged to apply. Candidates who are highly organised and able to work to strict timelines with impeccable written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills will be highly regarded.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
