The Standards and Integrity Directorate is seeking to appoint a reliable and motivated individual to join their team in the role of Consultant Prevention and Education.
The successful applicant will draw upon previous knowledge and understanding of legislation, frameworks and policies to provide a consultancy service, including operational information and advice, to Departmental staff relating to risk, misconduct management and the public sector Accountable and Ethical Decision Making training program. Applicants with strong written and verbal communication skills are encouraged to apply as you will design, develop and present professional learning programs, including presentations to pre-service teachers, workshops and seminars whilst liaising with key stakeholders within the Department. Whilst working within a highly demanding environment we are seeking an individual who is able to adapt to change and work under pressure to achieve desired outcomes.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our division for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation, frameworks and policies relating to risk and misconduct management.
- Well developed written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to design and deliver presentations to a variety of stakeholders.
- Well developed oral and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to deliver services across a range of internal and external sites and with a variety of stakeholder groups.
- Well developed research skills and the ability to interpret legislation and policy, and develop and implement a range of strategies and initiatives related to risk and misconduct management.
- Well developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet conflicting deadlines.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment and yearly thereafter
- complete a declaration prior to employment and annually thereafter disclosing any previous disciplinary findings, criminal charges or convictions, and ongoing conflicts of interest
- provide a statement from previous employer/s with regard to any disciplinary findings
- possess or progressing towards a Certificate IV in Training and Education
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
