About our fantastic College:
The WA College of Agriculture – Cunderdin (WACOA - Cunderdin) is seeking to appoint a highly skilled Agriculture Teacher (Plant Production Systems, Biology and/or Animal Production systems) to deliver Senior School Agriculture courses.
We will also consider an internal secondment opportunity for permanent teachers in other locations within the Department of Education who would like to work at our school for up to three years, and retain their substantive position. The WACOA - Cunderdin provides Year 11 and 12 students with a unique educational experience focused on innovation and excellence and was awarded the 2020 WA School of the Year for WACE Attainment. About the role:
Our ideal applicant will have high expectations, display a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students in the delivery of programs.
You will ideally be flexible and adaptive, able to apply the strategies to differentiate lessons where necessary, utilise Explicit Direct Instruction and other evidence-based instructional models to ensure students have ownership and accountability of their individual learning journey and progress.
You will ideally be able to contextualise course materials to reflect the College context and embed data from the Farm area of the College within your programs. Applicants with experience teaching ATAR Plant Production Systems, Biology and/or Animal Production systems, will be highly regarded.
It is an exciting time to be involved in the ‘Class’ area of our College. Our committed and dynamic team of highly capable practitioners are developing a context-specific teaching framework which will embed STEM critical thinking processes and practices and incorporate evidence-based teaching practices such as Explicit Direct Instruction pedagogies. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar full time or part time vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
