Churchlands Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who is ideally suitably qualified and capable of teaching Dance and Drama, at least one of which can be taught at the ATAR level. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the extensive co-curricular nature of the school’s successful arts commitments.
The successful applicant will work as part of The Arts team to provide strong curriculum leadership where you will contribute to meeting the priorities of the school’s Business Plan. You will ideally have strong people skills, as well as good communication skills. Additionally, you should be committed to learning, be self-motivated and work well as part of a team, while building trusting relationships with colleagues, students and parents.
The successful applicant should engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice to create an environment conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that cater for different student learning needs.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
