Appointment Pool
Denmark Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
We are seeking teachers who put student learning and wellbeing at the centre of their work. Teachers who thrive as part of a team that implements consistent whole school approaches will be highly rated especially if they have successfully collaborated as part of a professional learning community.
They will ideally possess the skills to use the assess, plan, teach cycle effectively to drive their practice and differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of a wide range of abilities. Suitable applicants should also have the interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships with students, staff and community members.
We are particularly seeking individuals that reflect on their practice and continually strive to improve. Teachers who have qualifications and or a particular strength for teaching mathematics and or science will be highly regarded. Applicants that have experience in implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) will be highly regarded.
Our teaching is based on evidence-based programs. It is desirable that applicants possess the skills and knowledge in implementing Play Based Intentional Teaching as well as Explicit Teaching. Applicants that have experience in teaching Guided Reading, Letters and Sounds, talk 4 Writing, iSTAR and integrating Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) into the curriculum will be highly regarded. We also implement; KIDDO and Heggarty Phonemic Awareness in Kindergarten to Year 2.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
