Ridge View Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School (IPS) seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Student Wellbeing and Engagement (SWAE) Coordinator with excellent knowledge and understanding of policy and procedures related to student services provision.
The successful applicant should be highly organised and have excellent time management skills while also having highly effective interpersonal skills. Ridge View SC is a new and growing college which will have years 7-10 in 2022 and will be preparing for the first Year 11 cohort in 2023.
The successful applicant will lead the SWAE Team and coordinate proactive approaches and intervention strategies. The successful applicant will ideally have high standards of professionalism and will embrace opportunities for collaboration and partnerships within and beyond the college community. Abilities to work positively and effectively in teams and be open to new thinking are highly desirable.
The successful applicant will be expected to plan for, implement and monitor student wellbeing programs and use data to inform their strategic planning. The SWAE Coordinator will lead, promote and build upon the college’s Good Standing system and the House System which forms an important component of the positive support emphasis and SWAE structure. The SWAE Coordinator will need to ensure that co-designed documented plans are sufficiently detailed and communicated to all parties, while all case management procedures are applied in a consistent manner in accordance with clear timelines.
Candidates who have a high level of knowledge and understanding of student services provision and experience, training or qualifications in intervention and case management approaches are encouraged to apply. Candidates who are highly organised and able to work to strict timelines with impeccable written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will be someone who places high emphasis on parent partnerships and desires to communicate and partner with parents regularly throughout the year.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
