Appointment Pool
We are seeking to establish a pool of Mathematics Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.

About the Role
Suitable Applicants must have a passion for mathematics education and the desire to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary education including cross curricular opportunities such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). An ability to support students to apply their mathematical knowledge to practical situations to meet minimum numeracy standards is highly desirable. The suitable applicants should have the qualifications and possess mathematical knowledge and ability to teach a variety of upper school mathematics courses.

It is highly desirable that the successful applicants develop a supportive and positive classroom environment, possess effective interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. As a teacher at Newton Moore SHS you will participate as an integral member of the teaching teams and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, delivering learning programs to students according to the needs of our school community and modelling exemplary classroom practice. You will assist in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, and you will be relationship focused to assist with the pastoral care of students.

Our School
Newton Moore SHS is located in Bunbury, 175kms south of Perth. We have a strong commitment to offering innovative and best practice educational programs. Our school delivers two Department of Education Approved Specialist Academic Programs: Science Horizons and Engineering Specialist. Newton Moore SHS is also Teacher Development School (TDS) for secondary science and a Lead Language School and supports with training and assisting staff across the South West. Our school is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for Certificate II courses in Aquaculture and Workplace Skills.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
